New Look Back-To-School

Belated Happy New Year! We hope that you have had a good start to year 2021. Last year was not a good year for everyone but with a new year comes new hope for a brighter future.

We reopened school on 4th January after ten months of closure. It was joy and excitement as our girls had missed their school and the food. In the poorest villages of Kenya, like where we are, children rely on schools for their only meal of the day. It is a new look back-to-school. Masks, hand sanitizers, temperature guns and social distancing are the new order.

Through your support, we prepared well for the reopening and learning recovery. The teachers were ready and learning has picked up again. Apart from learning, we are supporting the girls and their families in matters of health, nutrition, water, sanitation and hygiene. The parents appreciate this initiative very much.

New Year, New School Uniforms!

New Kenya Kesho School for Girls Uniform

We have new uniforms for our girls and they love them. They look cute and neat. We provide them for free to the girls, courtesy of you our sponsors and donors. Each girl now has a frilly uniform.

Sponsors & Donors Visits

We appreciate the visits to our school by our sponsors, donors, family, friends and well wishers. In January, we had a visit by a delegation from Kentaste Products Limited. Kentaste donated some of their products including coconut milk and virgin coconut oil. We use their products to make nutritious porridge and maandazi (doughnuts).
Kentaste have also donated two lorry loads of coconut coir for use in our green houses/ garden. We hope this will make a fabulous difference.

Teachers

Now we have a team of six professional teachers. They are doing their best under difficult circumstances. The girls have forgotten most of what they learnt in the past.

We would love you to come and volunteer, Please contact us.

We are still looking for sponsors for 30 girls. Please contact Daniel at daniel@kenyakeshoschoolforgirls.org. Each girl is sponsored at USD 250 per year, the price of half a cup of coffee per day.
