A Registered Mental Health Nurse with over 35 years of eclectic experience, working in the NHS and
Private and Charitable sectors.  Much of my career however, has been spent working in the field of
psychological trauma.  Having gained a diploma in aromatherapy I’m particularly interested in the limbic
system and how smell can trigger memories for us all.
I have CBT skills in individual and group work, trained to level 3 EMDR and have gained a Diploma in
Teaching Mindfulness and Relaxation.
Currently supporting employees and working collaboratively with Occupational Health to assist people
suffering negatively with their employment to improve their sense of wellbeing and getback into the
workplace.  Having been a Registered Manager for many years I’m very aware of the pressures on both
individuals and organisations, as such I adopt a CBT approach together with solution focused strategies.
Very interested in female empowerment and supportive of education for girls and young women to
enable them to join, and contribute to the workplace and society as a whole, giving informed
contributions, and becoming valued major decision makers and influencers.
“A career spanning 34 years as a mental health nurse has given me a passionate belief that self
confidence and positive self esteem are essential attributes which contribute to a successful life.
Education, knowledge and mentorship are essential building blocks in enabling children to develop their
own self worth, that’s why I believe the work of Kenya Kesho is so invaluable.”
